I was wondering does anybody do partial rep squats or think they are a worthwhile exercise? When doing squats I have real difficulty in getting my legs parallell to the ground, unless I have a lot of flare out on my toes. I find my legs are very much turned out on the descent, and I seem to be doing most of the work using my lower back and glutes. Basically I’m not hitting my quads – is what I am trying to say! Because of this I usually do deadlifts as an alternative but still I am hitting legs to lesser extent. If I try to squat with legs in a narrower stance and much less flare out, I can only get halfway to parallell!
Partial movement = partial development. I would ALWAYS pass the parallel and go as far down as I can WITH CONTROL! Try doing front squats for change and see if you can manage to feel quads instead of glutes and lower back.
Hi, I’m 21 and while lifting weight, I’m ALWAYS (every set) using the amount of weight that I can lift 8 to 10 times before total failure (when I can’t lift it any rep more AT ALL). My question is, since I’m a complete beginer is it okay to do every set UNTIL FAILURE, or should i do it the way, that allows me to do 2 or 3 more (not going to failure). Could this decrease my progress? BTW, I’m doing 3 exercises per body part, ONCE a week and I don’t use any supplements or drugs.
If you ask different bodybuilding champions you’ll hear different answers. Bodybuilding great Bill Pearl told me (and I remembered it very well, as I have always admired the man) – Milos, WHY GO TO FAILURE? Do you want to fail in anything? No! Than why would you want to fail in training? Point taken. I always leave my body wanting more.
Now, do I go to failure? Sometimes I do, but always listen to your body and you can’t go wrong. Some days you would feel like you are ready to break the World record and to do superbly intense workout – so if this is the case – go for it. Some days you would feel that “something” just doesn’t feel right – than better don’t push it! If I can go back in time – I remember that every (OK – almost every time) I did that – I injured myself! On those days I just think of Big Bill Pearl and tell myself: why would I want to fail today? I hope you get the point.
My question to you concerns the issue of adding insulin to your nutrional regime, the last week of the show. I know you state to start the creatine load on Sunday, deplete carbs until Wedensday and begin with a carb load then along with the doubling the creatine dosage. Would you suggest to also bring in a fast acting insulin (Humalog) in with the carbs starting Wedensday to aid with the carb load. If so, how many IU’s per Carb do you suggest and what about timings and spilling over with the insulin. I know Insulin is a very dangerous hormone if not careful you can die but, your knowledge here is greatly appreciated if you can give it.
Guys, you must understand, due to contractual agreement that I have I am not able to answear this kind of questions.
Do many guys train their inner thighs on the sitting adductor machine? And who uses that standing machine where you see most girls trying to train their glutes or inner/outer thighs, to train their inner thighs (or hams to a certain extend when you’re using it for the glutes)? (I can’t remember the name of that machine). I have stick legs no matter what I do/did (I train for 15 years now) and since I started to use those exercises it “looks” like my legs are thicker. (It’s all about creating illusions, I guess) Just wanted to know if I’m not too gay if I do these exercises?
I do those girlie exercises and I am a girlie man (as Arnold ) said, but I am proud of it. It is a great isolation exercise for that particular area and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
Do you know anyone who has suffered from the effects of exogenus testosterone usage to the point it is affected their baby making capabilities? I’m already working with an Urologist, and I just wanted different input if you know of anyone who has happened to have been through this.
Maaaany bodybuilders have that problem and surely we all know why we have that problem. Our HPTA gets screwed up for some strange, medically unknown reason.
A common practice which I would highly suggest you try is to use Bulgarian Tribestan, and some of the guys have suggested that Biotest’s product is worthy as well. Take 3 capsules in the morning on an empty stomach, and 3 more eight hours later. 5 days on, 2 off. Clomid was 50mg/ed. Do this for 8 weeks and took 4 weeks off and then repeat the cycle. At the begining of the second cycle a blood test showed that the Hypothalamus started to produce FSH again, this hormone tells the testes to start working. After you reach normal FSH value it will take approx 60 days before the sperm count starts to rise.
Certainly, this system would not work for everyone. It depends on individuality and where the core problems comes from. Doctors would try to treat both “H” and “T”. Normally – to increase your FSH and LH they would (more than likely) put you on METRODIN (generic name – urofollitropin) or PERGONAL (menotropin) with dosage between 75 and 150 IU/day for 7 to 10 days. Followed by one shot of 10000 IU of PROFASI (chorionic gonadotropin), and than 3 more shoots of 5000 IU every 3 days ( 3 to 5 shoots maximum). At the same time I would suggest you to take tribestan or tribex (I guess it works according to a lot of the guys?!). Gonadorelin is also successfully used in Europe (product named KRYPTOCUR) and there are different products here in USA. But, as you are going to see a doctor – let us know what he (or she ??) recommends! BTW, did anyone tell you that having sex would help too?
